MEMORIAL DAY FUN
KJ is growing by leaps and bounds. We visited the doctor on May 23rd and he weighed in at 11 pounds, 8 ounces and 23.5 inches-- a growth of more than 3 pounds and 2 inches in the past five weeks. I guess that he is a good eater!
The entire family went home to Kalamazoo for Memorial Day following KJ's well baby check-up. He was able to meet Uncle Brad and DJ for the first time. He was so happy to be around all of his uncles and the rest of the Kalamazoo clan. It was a awesome weekend.

ONE MONTH OLD
KJ is one month old and is gaining personality by the day. He is really starting to smile, recognize his mom and dad, is able to be calmed by familiar voices, track people and things and he even made his first non-cry coo today. I am enjoying him more and more each day.
My mom always said that time flew by when she had kids and she is right. It is hard to believe that more than 4 weeks have already passed since I gave birth to the little man.

A BUSY BOY OF 3 WEEKS...
KJ took his first trip home to Kalamazoo this past weekend and met the entire family, including his Great Grandma Crookston and his namesake, Grandpa (Joe) Crookston. He also spent quality time with all his grandparents, including Aunt Trudy and Uncle Gerald. KJ was also introduced to his best protector, our dog, Brittany. She did not like it when KJ was unhappy and would make sure to let us know that we needed to address his crying by barking louder than the baby.
KJ went to his second bridal shower while in Kalamazoo. Thanks to Aunt Kim for the adorable "Island Boy" outfit. He was the best dressed person at the party.

2 WEEKS AND STILL LEARNING
Our little man is getting so big. 2 weeks old and continuing to do new things everyday. Kurt officially went back to work this week, putting in his usual 60 to 70 hours per week, so KJ and his mama have been really getting to know each other.
KJ had his 10-day doctor's appointment on April 28th and it went great. He already weighed 8 pounds, 11 ounces, gaining back all his lost birth weight and then some. KJ also enjoyed watching the NFL draft with his daddy. We hope that by the time Kujo is an adult, the Lions might actually be a contender!
